This video was produced during a three-month residency on Jeungdo, a small island in Shinan County. The work begins with the artist acknowledging her arrival at “the island” as a space separate from the everyday. Rather than following a clear narrative, the video unfolds through loosely connected fragments—scenes captured on the island and a corresponding voiceover.

Throughout the video, the artist reflects on issues of representation, the boundaries between artistic and non-artistic labour, and the legitimacy of art itself. Her experiences and discoveries during the residency become part of the work, as she openly reveals a working method that folds her way of living into the making of the video. Though it appears to describe reality, the video persistently slips away from it—building its own world through editing and narration.

이 영상은 3개월 동안 신안군 증도에서 진행된 레지던시 프로그램 참여 중 제작된 결과물이다. 작가는 일상에서 벗어난 ‘섬’이라는 장소에 도착했음을 관객에게 알리며 영상을 시작한다. 영상은 섬에서 촬영한 장면들을 바탕으로 하지만, 명확한 이야기 구조를 따르기보다는 단편적으로 느슨하게 연결된 장면들과 그에 대응하는 내레이션으로 구성된다.

영상 속에서 작가는 현실을 영상으로 재현하는 방식에 대한 고민, 예술가와 비예술가의 노동을 나누는 기준, 그리고 예술이라는 행위의 정당성에 대해 성찰한다. 레지던시 동안의 경험과 발견을 그대로 영상 속에 담으며, 삶의 방식 자체가 작업이 되는 과정을 숨김없이 드러낸다. 영상은 실제 있었던 일들을 다룬 듯하지만, 편집과 내레이션을 통해 계속해서 현실에서 미끄러지며 영상 안에서만 유효한 세계를 만들어간다.
