Goodbye, Max follows the process of creating a gravestone for Max—a fictional son born from a dream. Through first-person narration, the artist reflects on the fragile condition of being both an artist and a mother, the nature of artistic freedom, and the circumstances that allowed this dream—the concept itself—to manifest into a tangible work. By playfully juxtaposing the death of an imaginary child with the birth of art, the work blurs the boundary between fiction and reality. In becoming an artwork, Max finds his place in the real world—both as a video and as a gravestone installed at the Saari Residence in Finland.

《잘가, 맥스》는 꿈속에서 태어난 가상의 아들 맥스를 위한 묘비를 제작하는 과정을 따라간다. 1인칭 서사를 통해 작가는 예술가이자 어머니로서의 불안정한 위치, 예술적 자유의 본질과 그것이 실현 가능한 조건들을 성찰한다. 허구의 아들이 죽고 예술이 태어나는 과정을 유쾌하게 병치시키며, 이 작업은 현실과 상상의 경계를 흐릿하게 만든다. 작품으로 실현된 맥스는 이제 현실 속에서 자신의 자리를 찾는다—하나는 영상으로, 또 하나는 핀란드 사아리 레지던시에 남겨진 묘비의 형태로.
