Fragments of a Place is an outdoor installation created during a three-month residency at Taepyeong Salt Field in 2021. The sculptural stage, made of cement, was installed in a field of canola flowers on Jeungdo Island and served as a performance space for a local singer discovered during the residency. The performance took place on the exhibition’s opening day, 29 October 2021.

The work consists of three components: the physical structure, a one-time performance, and a video documentation. Passers-by could sit on the stage and view the video via a QR code, allowing the installation to act both as a resting point and a platform for potential future performances. Modest and barely noticeable from afar, the stage quietly occupies its place—much like unnamed artistic gestures that occur unannounced in everyday life.

《한 장소의 단편들》은 2021년 태평염전에서의 3개월 레지던시 기간 동안 제작된 야외 설치 작업이다. 증도의 유채꽃밭 한가운데 설치된 이 시멘트 무대는, 레지던시 기간 중 취미로 창을 하시는 한 주민을 우연히 알게 되며 2021년 10월 29일 전시 오프닝을 위한 공연 공간으로 사용되었다.

이 작업은 실재하는 설치물, 일회성 퍼포먼스, 그리고 영상 기록물의 세 요소로 구성된다. 관객은 무대에 잠시 앉아 쉬며 QR코드를 통해 영상 기록물을 관람할 수 있고, 이 무대는 향후 다른 공연을 위한 공간으로도 쓰일 수 있다. 멀리서 보면 눈에 잘 띄지 않고 어쩌면 볼품없을 수도 있는 이 구조물은, 이름 없이 각자의 자리에서 발생하는 예술처럼 조용히 그 자리를 지킨다.
